Sanadora is a group of independent specialists, united under one common ideal of planetary stewardship. Our experiences in diverse aspects of urban design have led us all to a core set of values informed by the wisdom of generations of our ancestors. Sanadora means healing and it acknowledges the goal of our work: to link the healing arts with sustainable development.

The Modern Embodiment of the Master Builder
In ancient times, the tasks of architect, engineer, builder and citizen all fell on one person. Projects were less complex and more holistic, designs were integrated and beautifully crafted to last centuries. This is truly sustainable design. Our collaborative is founded on the principle, that true sustainable development is holistic, integrated, beautiful, and inspired by the specificity of place.

The work we do is inspired by a dedication to the earth and a desire to protect the natural resources and unique cultural assets which every community has. These values were once inherent in the people who built our cities and towns but the increasing complexity of markets and governance has brought about other priorities. Now, we are reclaiming the ancient wisdom of working with the earth and designing with nature, learning from and applying indigenous wisdom to solve modern challenges.

We help communities at all scales work together to achieve the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals using the Earth Charter as our constitution. Originally founded by a small group of young women, we are focused on working to empower underserved communities around the world.
